PROSTEOMAX™ – Calcium Phosphate-based Bone Cement
Prosteomaxâ„¢ is a Calcium Phosphate-based bone cement designed to treat bone losses and defects due to trauma injuries, non-union cases, or even diseases of bones. Prosteomaxâ„¢ has osteoconductive and biodegradable properties for synthetic bone grafts derived from Calcium Phosphate-based materials (>50%). The main compositions of Prosteomaxâ„¢ are the combination of Tri-Calcium Phosphate and Tetra-Calcium Phosphate materials; which are highly bio-resorbable. The chemical composition of Prosteomaxâ„¢ is called Osteopasteâ„¢.
How is it Prepared?
Prosteomax™ is prepared in powder and bead forms, then packaged in either designated cups for Orthopaedics applications or syringes for Dental applications. Prosteomax™ can be formed into different shapes and sizes using a mold (upon request) or can be directly applied to the defects. Other than that, Granulab® also provides Custom-made requests from surgeons to fit the patient’s bone gap in any shape and size.
